The Objective: The contribution page is an innovative approach for our guest and customers to show their appreciation towards the Doshi House staff and operation by contributing to the individual(s) or Doshi House as an organization. These contributions are based on the customers own conviction, experience and relationships built during their experience(s) at Doshi House.

We understand in the food and beverage industry, tipping has become a standard tool for the customers to show their appreciation of service, but often it lays a path for a lot of inconsistencies and confusion for the organization and the employees life planning when their income in uncertain because of the tipping method. In aiming to alleviate this problem we are trying something different. As a company, we operate at the base, of paying a fair living wage vs. minimum wage as a start to a more equitable practice.

We want you to experience Doshi House for what it is with the people who operate it and with the community we serve.

The contribution page has a dedicated link to each one of our team members who contribute to the success of Doshi House and your experience here. On this page you can get a better idea of the person who makes your drinks,  prepares your food, greets you hello, makes you smile, and fills our space with the enjoyable energy that brings comfort when at Doshi.

Through this link you get the opportunity to support our team & organization in what drives them and makes them better; their hobbies, their dreams, their contributions, their goals and just a little bit of what’s makes them whole.

UPDATE ON CONTRIBUTION PAGE:

RE-Instating the Tipping Platform.  

Pre – Covid, Doshi House reopened our operations with the intention of re-imagining how bad practices within the industry could be challenged. One of our objectives was to create more equitable practices within our space.  We aimed to transition conventional tipping to an intentional contribution page at our space. (check it out at) www.doshihouse.com/contributionpage 

We created the Contribution Page - pre-covid to AIM to change the way people contributed to the staff, while working towards leveling out the expectations of service and pay. This idea allows folks to intentionally give while based on the impressions Doshi House left on them, while the business continued to explore business models that could make our operations more sustainable.  

We still live by the idea that a lot must change in the industry, but the food and beverage industry has been one of the most complicated businesses to stabilize post covid. The cost of nearly every cost has gone up from raw goods, supplies and most importantly human capital. These are the few basic cost of operations here to mention.  

Simultaneously, the increased cost of living has hit hardest to normal everyday individual who work in already difficult industries like ours who are combating high gas prices and all the economic chaos associated with the raising cost due to inflation in today’s market. Without choice having to absorb today’s significant increased cost of living.

We are happy to see that our customers have started to use the contribution page and we are extremely grateful. This change although has been understood and appreciated by many, we still face the challenges associated with behavioral change that could really make this successful. With our limited technology we haven’t had the opportunity to make it seamless, which in turn has required a few extra steps on the customers end. This has resulted in slow activation of this idea.

The intention around the contribution page has always been in improving industry standards in a way that elevates the quality of life for staff and customers alike.

In our current economic environment, we are facing layers of change within the economy at such remarkable pace, that requires that we pull every card to help stabilize and maximize the opportunity for our staff and organization to sustain themselves financially.

We have re-instated the tipping platform in the hopes that for those who are used to the one tap button, they show their support by the one click. We are still encouraging folks to use the contribution page with the hopes that it becomes dynamic enough that we revisit how “tipping” is used in industry.
