IMPACT PROJECTS @DOSHI HOUSE

Dear Impact Makers

We have cultivated community as a safe gathering space through serving consciously crafted goods for the last many years.  Our community has been relentlessly loyal to us which has kept us alive and growing. Now, I want to explore how we can continue to give back more with innovation and direct impact in mind.

Through the many years of Doshi we have evolved in understanding the powerful position of small businesses in communities by being in the work and building an institution!

What has emerged from the last 14 years’ operating Doshi, is the clear understanding that small businesses require a different way of operating to stay afloat and relevant. You have probably heard me talk a lot about ‘Enterpact’, a nonprofit agency in the making that empowers small businesses and its employees like our to do more impact-oriented work while elevating our ability to be sustainable and also impact partner in the community we serve.

This has been a long journey but its unfolding beautifully, we aren’t where we need to be, but I am excited to share I am having the right conversations with people who are sharing the vision of elevating Economic vitality through social enterprise (where sustainability and impact are both the objective)

If you are interested in participating in any of these initiatives or have some ideas that you are interested in sharing, I invite you to sign up and commit to doing the work through volunteering to create impact in our community.

These ideas are volunteer based right now. I am continuously aiming for partnership and funding opportunities that would allow for compensation and budgets to follow.

I am actively volunteering my time and efforts so that we can become a double net benefit organization where collectively we can thrive and continue to be impact agents in Third Ward.

These are opportunities for those who are interested in directly creating impact through the vehicle of a social enterprise that is us. This is just an opportunity to evoke curiosity, thoughts and action to learn and grow.

With solidarity,

Deepak

The Big Questions?

Why are we doing this? To create programs that positively impact our community.

Why is this volunteer opportunity right now?

We are at the pilot and development stage. The greatest objective is to create programs that allow us to impact our community positively more than it already has. I am eagerly working towards funding opportunities that allow these types of ideas to also be compensated. Trust this is a large priority for me to ensure the sustainability of these programs through the use of the participants time. Simultaneously I aim to showcase that there is value in our work and impact, through a social enterprise framework.

Once funding does come through, the compensation will go first to those who have signed up and started the work along for the specific impact program they have signed up for.

What’s the format of each Team? We can explore this per team and if/who desires to lead this.
